WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
In this project near Munich, the architecture takes center stage. Rather than blending seamlessly into the garden, the pool projects outward — a bold architectural statement that combines geometry, light, and structure. The “floating” pool was designed primarily by the project’s architects, while A1-Schwimmbadbau from Munich handled the pool construction and technical execution.

The result is a striking highlight that stands out while remaining perfectly attuned to the overall design of the residence. The elevated position offers a sweeping view over the surrounding landscape and nearby lake. To achieve this statically demanding structure, a custom concrete basin was built to support the monolithic one-piece pool shell inserted within.
Measuring 11.5 by 3.7 meters, the pool features a wide entry staircase with a shallow lounging step, fully clad in natural stone. On the opposite side, an overflow channel enhances the infinity effect, allowing uninterrupted views across the fields and water. The lighting design was another key element: concealed LED strips installed beneath the raised coping stones create a soft, indirect glow that matches the house’s lighting concept — accentuated by a powerful underwater spotlight positioned in the center of the stairs.
DESIGN DETAIL
The overflow edge at the front of the pool is clad in natural stone for a unified look. Water flows gently over it into a lower overflow channel — a subtle design solution that preserves the view.
