Binder´s High-Output Turbine Systems Expand Training Options in Residential Pools

Effective swim training depends largely on the quality and consistency of water flow. In recent years, turbine-driven counter-current systems have increasingly been used to enable endurance and performance training in pools with limited space. Among these solutions, higher-capacity systems are now addressing the needs of advanced and professional swimmers.

BINDER’s HydroStar turbine swim system is designed to support continuous swimming by generating a broad, stable current. The system allows users to perform endurance training without the need for large pool dimensions. Its turbine-based technology produces a uniform flow field that differs from conventional jet-based counter-current systems, offering a more evenly distributed resistance across the swimmer’s body.

To accommodate higher performance requirements, the HydroStar system is available in the BGA 600 and BGA 1200 configurations. These versions generate greater flow volumes than standard models and are intended for intensive training applications. The increased performance is achieved through a larger turbine outlet measuring 25 centimeters in diameter, which expands the width of the flow. As a result, the stronger current is perceived as smoother, while providing greater overall resistance.

The BGA 600 model delivers a flow rate of 600 cubic meters per hour. In its dual-turbine configuration, the BGA 1200 reaches a combined flow rate of 1,200 cubic meters per hour. According to the manufacturer, this positions the system among the highest-output counter-current solutions currently available.

Both models are equipped with the BINDER +System, which integrates control, connectivity, and lighting functions. Optional LED lighting systems can be used to implement a broader range of lighting effects. An integrated Wi-Fi module enables connection to a home network, while operation is possible via remote control, mobile application, or the illuminated optical control panel known as BOB, which indicates power levels through LED signals.

HydroStar turbine swim systems are distributed through specialist pool retailers. Compared with conventional counter-current systems, turbine-based solutions are reported to offer significantly lower energy consumption and reduced installation effort. The systems do not require an external dry room and can be operated using a standard 230-volt household power supply.
