100 years of Hayward: blending the timeless joy of water since 1925 with the innovation of tomorrow.

Hayward, 100 years of history and innovation to design the pool of tomorrow

In a century the world of the swimming pool has traveled an incredible path going from rudimentary equipment to systems of rare intelligence. Founded in 1925 in a small workshop in Brooklyn, the Hayward company has today become a leading global player for residential and collective pools.

In 2025, the company celebrates a symbolic milestone with one hundred years dedicated to the art of circulating and treating water. This exceptional longevity is not only a matter of the calendar but the reflection of an impressive industrial strength that now radiates throughout the entire world.

An industrial power at the service of proximity

Behind the brand lies a human and logistical organization of remarkable scale. With 2,000 employees across the world, Hayward relies on 10 production sites at the cutting edge of technology. This international presence is not achieved at the expense of local roots, quite the contrary.

The group has thus made Europe a strategic pillar with 240 dedicated employees and a headquarters based in Getafe, Spain. The European industrial strength is concentrated notably on two production sites located near Barcelona while logistical reactivity is ensured by a strategic distribution center in Saint Vulbas, France.

Success through innovation and economic performance

The solidity of Hayward is also expressed through results that command respect. With a turnover of 1.05 billion dollars in 2024, the company confirms its position as a leader. In the first half of 2025, the zone including Europe already showed a turnover of 86.2 million dollars highlighting the importance of these markets in global growth. But beyond finances, it is intellectual property that fuels the future.

With 554 active or filed patents as of September 30, 2025, Hayward proves that innovation is not a hollow word but a daily investment to advance the entire sector.

A sustainable commitment for responsible water management

Celebrating a centenary is also about taking responsibility in the face of climate challenges. Hayward has already saved 2.4 billion kWh thanks to the massive adoption of its variable speed pumps and its LED lighting.

This quest for sustainability translates into eco-designed products where repairability becomes an absolute priority. By betting on connectivity and remote control, the brand allows owners to precisely master their consumption while simplifying maintenance. It is this vision of a simpler pool that is more respectful of resources which now guides each new project.

An anniversary turned towards new horizons

This centenary is not only an opportunity to contemplate the path traveled but above all to reaffirm the group’s commitments for the decades to come.

Hayward continues to support causes of general interest while accelerating its research to create the pool of tomorrow. By constantly strengthening its European roots and by pushing responsible technologies ever further the company ensures that the next hundred years will be just as innovative.

The message is clear to offer an exceptional bathing experience thanks to technology that knows how to be forgotten while protecting the future of our environment.
