Natural Simplicity in the Taunus Hills

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
Blending harmoniously with the natural surroundings – which remain largely untouched – was the top priority for this garden pool located in the idyllic green landscape of the Hochtaunus region.

Pool specialist Dirk Lodders and garden designer Tom Kreutz immediately embraced the concept of creating a tranquil retreat within this beautiful garden setting.

In the gently sloping terrain with mature trees, the existing wooden terrace in front of the house was extended using flexible polypropylene panels from Veltmann Pools, creating a level base for the prefabricated swimming pool.

To adapt to the rising terrain, a supporting wall made of large, roughly hewn bricks was constructed. These stones were intentionally chosen so that they would gradually weather and blend naturally into the landscape over time.

The slim stone border around the pool fits seamlessly into the design, widening slightly only at the entry area where additional floor slabs provide comfortable storage space.

The desire for minimal maintenance influenced the technical setup as well. The pool itself features a powerful counter-current system and an automatic submerged roller cover.

Additional technical components include a generously sized filtration system housed in a technical box and a heat pump. Both elements remain hidden from view, concealed within the garden’s dense vegetation.

Even the pool interior was chosen with visual harmony in mind. The pool lining colors the water in a natural turquoise shade, which the homeowners enter via floating-style entry steps.

DESIGN DETAIL

To keep the technical equipment out of sight, it was quickly placed within the dense tree and shrub areas of the garden. The pool technology is housed in a weather-protected box, while the heat pump stands nearby.
