Even though pumps usually work behind the scenes, they must perform reliably at all times. Speck focuses on precisely this. Through creative engineering expertise, innovative products and solutions, uncompromising quality standards and a strong service mindset, the company ensures efficiency, exceptional reliability and long service life.
Having your own pool means vacation at home, a personal wellness oasis, a permanently open sports facility and, not least, an upgrade for your property. Enjoy the sun. Swim away the stress of everyday life. Relax in refreshing water. Who would not dream of that?
Yet without a pool pump there is no carefree swimming experience. As the heart of every pool, it drives the circulation and filtration cycle, ensures an even flow throughout the pool and creates the foundation for hygienically clean water.
As a leading European pump manufacturer, Speck Pumpen has been a key player in the swimming pool sector for decades. The company regularly pioneers groundbreaking innovations that later become industry standards. Its history dates back to 1909. The production of the first plunger piston pump in 1912 laid the foundation for the company’s success in pump engineering. In 1968, the market launch of the first corrosion resistant all plastic pump for private swimming pools established a new benchmark.

Much has happened since the company was founded more than 100 years ago. The agile family owned business markets pool technology and solutions under the Badu brand that impress in performance, quality and design. Around 250 employees contribute their expertise and passion for pump technology every day and play a decisive role in ensuring that the company continues to set new standards with innovative products.
Customers around the world value Badu pool pumps and products for their excellent manufacturing quality, tested safety, exceptional durability and outstanding energy efficiency. From entry level backyard pools to large public facilities, Badu products represent the right choice and always reflect the latest technological standards.
Guided by the principle that standing still means falling behind, Speck Pumpen continuously optimizes its internal processes, expands capacities and invests in the future so that it can maintain its role as a driver of innovation and technology. In order to remain flexible and capable of delivering even in turbulent times, the company established its own motor production facility, SI Siam Innovative Motors in Thailand, in 2020 and acquired a plastic injection molding plant in the Bavarian Forest. These strategic steps laid the foundation for further successful business development.
The creation of SI Motors not only ensures the motor supply for production facilities in Europe, South Africa, the United States and Australia. It also reduces dependence on a limited number of motor manufacturers, strengthens the company’s competitiveness and opens the door to further innovative developments. Exactly twelve months after the company was founded, the first motor rolled off the production line. Today, around 100000 motors are produced annually, of which about 30000 had already been installed at Speck Pumpen in Neunkirchen am Sand by mid 2021. Quality standards remain extremely high and close collaboration ensures that the consistently reliable quality associated with Speck Pumpen is maintained. SI Motors currently employs around 45 people, with further growth planned. Within three years the goal is to achieve a production capacity of around 250000 motors with full manufacturing depth.

The acquisition of the plastic injection molding company K Form represents a logical continuation of a long standing partnership. Around 95 percent of the parts produced there had already been commissioned by Speck Pumpen in previous years. The team therefore knows the company’s quality requirements extremely well and is familiar with the specific demands of swimming pool technology. In the future, all plastic pump housings will be produced in Hauzenberg, ensuring that the production of this key component is no longer dependent on external suppliers.

At K-Form, 16 employees operate ten injection molding machines in three shifts, with clamping forces ranging from 60 to 1200 tons. Plastic components weighing from 135 g to more than 5.5 kg are manufactured from a variety of plastic granulates. Extensive investments in machinery have already been planned. Two additional injection molding machines with clamping forces of 500 tons and 120 tons will increase production capacity and improve efficiency. Further improvements in energy consumption and CO2 reduction are planned for the coming years, along with the use of innovative materials.

Speck Wissenswelle, one of the leading German language live platforms for knowledge transfer, was launched in November 2020 as another innovation by Speck Pumpen. Through live sessions and masterclasses, experts share their extensive knowledge about pumps and pool construction within the digital water academy. Interactive, dynamic and engaging, the platform offers insights into the wide ranging field of private and public swimming pools and turns anyone interested, whether beginner, advanced user or professional, into a true pool expert.
In addition to professional exchange, maintaining relationships with pool builders, planning offices, pool operators, wholesalers and manufacturers is a key focus. As in many other industries, the cancellation of trade fairs created a gap in customer dialogue and product presentation. At Speck Pumpen, this transformation is not approached merely tactically or reactively but proactively and with a clear long term strategy. Change is seen as an opportunity, and the company has the courage to explore new paths while continuously building on its long standing success story.
