WHAT MAKES THIS SAUNA SPECIAL
Saunavita designed and realised this bespoke infrared wellness cabin in a beautiful single-family residence near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, tailoring every detail to the homeowners’ individual wishes. Both the interior and exterior cladding were finished in thermally modified Radiata pine with a finely slatted appearance. The warm, dark tone of the timber lends the space a distinctive sense of comfort and sophistication.
As an extension of the cabin, a built-in storage unit was created in the same material and design language, ensuring a harmonious overall appearance. The ergonomic reclining lounger and accompanying bench were crafted from light-coloured limewood and fitted with individually adjustable back radiators that provide targeted deep-heat therapy. In addition, surface heaters integrated into the wall sections maintain a consistently even temperature throughout the cabin.
A special technical feature is the integrated evaporator heater with a salt-vapour attachment, which generates humid, salt-enriched air and adds another dimension to the wellness experience. Indirect warm-white LED lighting is seamlessly incorporated into the construction, accentuating the timber surfaces and enhancing the inviting atmosphere, while a separate reading light provides practical task illumination.
An integrated audio system with built-in speakers completes the cabin, transforming it into a tranquil retreat within the private residential setting and creating an ideal environment for relaxation and regeneration.
DESIGN DETAIL
In addition to the infrared wellness cabin, the sauna specialist also crafted the adjoining built-in cabinet. This created a cohesive visual appearance in beautifully finished thermo-radiata wood and ensured a seamless transition between the individual elements of the wellness area.
