How can an industrial SME maintain high technical standards, manufacture in France, and measurably reduce its environmental footprint ?
At CID Plastiques, the answer is found in the workshops, long before speeches. Carbon footprint assessment since 2022, ADEME support since 2025, ecodesigned pool covers, the company takes action both in its factory and through its products.
As early as 2022, when no obligation compelled it to do so, CID Plastiques carried out its first carbon footprint assessment. It wanted to start from a quantified inventory to build its decarbonization strategy. In 2025, it continued by committing alongside ADEME in the ACT program, in order to formalize its low carbon trajectory.
Its clients benefit from this too. For each of the products it supplies to them, the company is able to provide a life cycle assessment, a document that helps them establish or improve their own carbon footprint.

In the factory, every resource counts
To preserve water, extruders and injection molding presses operate with closed cooling circuits rather than wasted water, and process water is recovered, filtered, and then reused. Production scrap follows the same path, since it is ground up and reinjected directly into the process.
To identify areas of waste, the company mapped its consumption by workstation using dedicated meters. In terms of energy, it opted for electric presses rather than hydraulic ones. It also relies on renewable electricity, notably from rooftop solar panels. Finally, it prioritizes recycled resins sourced from Europe to minimize transportation.
It also relies on renewable electricity, notably with rooftop solar panels. Finally, it favors recycled or bio based resins of European origin to limit transport. The commitment also relies on the teams. Everyone remains vigilant not to discharge any pollution, particularly into watercourses, and the company cultivates respect and quality within its teams while working hand in hand with the local fabric. On the supply side, it manufactures and stores in large volume for its clients to optimize its material purchases. Logistics follows the same logic, with French manufacturing, local supply, and optimized loads.
OXO, product that keep their promises
This logic is naturally found in the products. With OXO, CID Plastiques offers a complete range whose efficiency is demonstrated according to the European standard NF EN 17645, which evaluates the environmental efficiency of pool equipment. The company has also improved its formulations so that its films truly last over time. Following conclusive research and laboratory tests, the OXO OPTIMAL film is now guaranteed for eight years. Ecodesign also guides product development, making products lighter, made of a single material, and easier to recycle at the end of their life.
Launched in 2024, the OXO Préserve film is eco-designed, made from 70% recycled materials, recyclable, and comes with a full five-year warranty.
And that’s not all—the company is already planning its next steps with new solutions to address climate change, such as OXO Fresh, designed to cope with increasingly hot summers and preserve pond water. This is a fascinating topic that will merit its own article very soon.
