From Classic Garden to Modern Spa Landscape

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL

When the current homeowners acquired this property in Schmitten, both a beautiful villa and a garden pool on the terrace were already in place. While that might sound ideal, it was not quite right for the new owners.

They decided to renovate the building and completely redesign the garden – including the existing swimming pool. In the process, the outdoor space was transformed into a comprehensive wellness area.

For this project, a landscape architect and Max Pools from Niddatal were brought on board.

The white swimming pool, embedded in a similarly light natural stone setting, was upgraded with a Binder counter-current system featuring a flat shaft. The roller cover was also replaced and now includes solar-powered slats, which not only protect against dirt but also help heat the pool water.

At the far end of the pool, a decorative planter filled with exotic aluminum serves as a visual boundary to the garden, creating an appealing focal point together with a large Japanese maple.

Opposite, the stone cladding along the pool edge extends outward, providing seating areas and practical storage surfaces. A few steps lead up to the extended wellness zone, where a garden sauna now stands in front of the house.

Adjacent to it, a Strato 2.3 whirlpool from RivieraPool has been integrated into the ground, offering additional relaxation. Thanks to the elevated position, the entire garden can be viewed from this area in all its facets.

DESIGN DETAIL

For the garden sauna and whirlpool, the existing concrete retaining walls were reworked and adapted to create a spacious wellness area.

Elegant metal cladding elements enhance the appearance of the raised platform.
