Next Gen & Aquafitness Days Are Coming

In Florence, three September days dedicated to aquatic professionals, featuring masterclasses, workshops and guests from around the world. Registration is already open.

September will bring one of the key moments for those working in aquafitness and aquatic wellness to Florence.

From Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6, 2026, the Hidron facility in Campi Bisenzio becomes the meeting point for industry professionals, instructors and swimming pool managers, in a program that blends technical training, experimentation and exchange with experts from different countries.

The registration portal is already live: those who sign up by July 15 can access discounted Early Bird rates.

Thirty years of EAA, a look toward tomorrow

The initiative marks a double milestone: three decades of activity for the European Aquatic Association and Aqquatix’s twentieth anniversary. More than a simple celebration, the event aims to shape the next phase of aquatic movement activities, envisioning increasingly open facilities, versatile and attentive to the real needs of those who use them.

On one hand, there is the legacy of an association that has worked since 1996 to spread the culture of water-based activity and aquafitness; on the other, a modern take on pool wellness, touching on themes such as prevention, active ageing, social inclusion, mind-body connection, rehabilitation pathways and small-group activities.

The day-by-day program

Friday, September 4 will open with the Piscine d’Eccellenza (Excellence Pools) project, a discussion table aimed at those who run or manage a facility: owners, directors, technicians and managers. The afternoon will host the session “The New Aquatic Instructor: Skills, Value and the Future of the Profession,” a reflection on the evolving role of water instructors.

Saturday, September 5 will be entirely devoted to hands-on training. The program includes workshops on active longevity, prevention and rehabilitation, personal training and small-group activities, Pilates and mind-body disciplines, disability projects, inclusive programs and formats combining water and land work. These will be followed by pool masterclasses led by international speakers, longtime EAA figures and emerging professionals.

Sunday, September 6, the Aquafitness Masterclass Day will close the three-day event with a full immersion in new aquatic training proposals: original formats, teaching techniques and instructional approaches to try firsthand, with an increasingly international outlook geared toward what’s next.

Event highlights

  • Masterclasses led by leading experts
  • Hands-on workshops on techniques and methodologies
  • Original training formats

Who it’s for

The event is designed for instructors, trainers, facility technical managers, sports science graduates and anyone interested in the field: a chance to update their skills, connect with other professionals and join an international network that has supported the growth of aquatic activities for three decades.

Recognition upon completion

Participants receive an official certificate issued by EAA. CSI also recognizes the credits required for updating the DD001 qualification.

Where and how

The event will take place at Hidron, Campi Bisenzio, Florence: a top-tier facility equipped to host training, networking and aquatic activities all in one place.

Registration is available online. Early Bird rates are available for those who confirm their participation by July 15: an opportunity to secure a spot on favorable terms and spend three days immersed in training, energy and exchange with the EAA community.
