Marriott and Lefay, A New Era for Italian Wellness

A New Partnership for a Strategic Expansion in Italy’s Landscapes

Marriott International has announced a joint venture to integrate Lefay as its first brand dedicated exclusively to luxury wellness. Founded in Italy in 2006, the brand blends scientific research with holistic traditions. This partnership leverages Marriott’s global scale to expand the Italian model while maintaining the distinct heritage and identity developed by its founders.

Current Portfolio and Future Italian Pipeline

The portfolio features award-winning resorts in Lake Garda and the Dolomites, serving as the blueprint for global growth. The development pipeline includes three new properties in Tuscany, Southern Italy, and the Swiss Alps. These resorts will be managed by the joint venture while the Italian real estate remains with the founders, ensuring high-standard wellness services.

Sustainable Design and the Lefay SPA Method

Lefay resorts are designed as eco-structures where architectural harmony and sustainable materials connect guests with nature. The core of this experience is the proprietary Lefay SPA Method, which integrates modern science with ancient traditions. The model prioritizes longevity and preventative health through structured programs that combine physical treatments with nutrition and movement.

Water Assets as Strategic Hospitality Pillars

The inclusion of Lefay into Marriott highlights swimming pools and thermal areas as critical strategic assets rather than simple amenities. In high-end hospitality, these aquatic infrastructures drive premium pricing and longer guest stays. By treating water spaces as a primary pillar, the joint venture sets a new operational standard where physical recovery is central to the brand value.
