Swimming in Lounge Mode

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL

Colored LEDs and an innovative counter-current system are the highlights of this indoor pool.

Peter Arends’ indoor pool is the perfect place to relax and escape everyday stress. Subtle LED lighting creates a calm atmosphere, while the HydroStar counter-current system produces a smooth, river-like flow for a natural swimming experience.

Unlike conventional systems that use pumps, HydroStar generates its current with turbine technology. This allows the swimmer to remain balanced in the water and focus entirely on technique. Developed and patented by pool technology specialist BINDER, the system is available in several performance levels with flow rates from 160 to 1,200 m³ per hour.

The turbine-powered system can be installed quickly in both new and existing pools. The retrofit version, EasyStar, offers the same functions as HydroStar and can be mounted easily without extensive construction work or a separate dry chamber. A standard 230 V household connection is all that is required.

Peter Arends chose a BGA 320 model with a flow rate of 320 m³ per hour. The 46-year-old IT specialist uses the system several times a week for swimming and water polo with his daughter. “I enjoy swimming and don’t want to constantly turn around,” he explains.

The 3.5 x 8 meter PVC pool is surrounded by elegant light-gray porcelain stoneware tiles and features underwater RGB LED lighting from Fluvo®, creating impressive color effects throughout the pool area. All lighting scenes are controlled via a KNX bus system.

HydroStar is also highly energy-efficient, consuming 50–80% less electricity than conventional pump-driven systems. Maintenance requirements are minimal because the brushless drive is water-lubricated and does not require an external dry room.

The system can be controlled via push-button, remote control, or the HydroStar Next app, which also allows users to create customized training profiles and monitor swimming performance.

BINDER’s turbine-driven systems are ideal not only for endurance swimming, but also for aqua fitness, wellness exercises, and family fun. Especially in small and medium-sized pools, the technology greatly increases usability and comfort.
