A Classic Garden Reimagined with Water

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL

On the quiet outskirts of Berlin, where many people seek refuge from the hustle and bustle of the big city, this pool has been integrated into a lovingly maintained garden. Initially, there were concerns about whether enough space could be created for the new swimming pool—after all, the homeowner was very fond of the existing garden design.

However, in collaboration with Rambow Pooldesign, she and her husband found the perfect solution, supported by the design expertise of Jan Rambow, who skillfully harmonized materials, colors, and atmosphere. As a result, the pool was not simply placed in a small corner of the garden, but given a prominent position directly adjacent to the house terrace.

The one-piece pool, an Ancona model by RivieraPool measuring an impressive 9.5 × 3.7 meters, was carefully integrated into the setting. Its dark interior finish enhances the effect throughout the seasons: in summer, the water appears invitingly blue, while in autumn and winter it becomes a reflective surface that captures the mood of the garden.

The pool was designed for year-round use and equipped accordingly. The slightly saline water remains crystal clear and pleasantly tempered thanks to efficient technology. Especially during the summer months, the pool terrace becomes the focal point for relaxed evenings with friends, neighbors, or family—accompanied by subtle lighting that creates a warm and atmospheric outdoor setting.

Any initial concerns that the pool might require additional effort have since given way to confidence, as the fully automated system ensures everything runs almost effortlessly.

DESIGN DETAIL

The high-level skimmer, positioned above the roller shutter housing integrated into the pool, ensures a high water level and allows the homeowner to keep her beloved flowers in view while swimming.
