WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
When a sports-loving family builds a new home, a pool as a training feature is a must. This one, however, was intended to be something truly special—so the homeowners combined an impressive 18-meter swimming length with a powerful counter-current system delivering 320 m³ per hour.
The modern architectural design of the house is enhanced by the pool’s purist exposed concrete finish and its central placement along the property’s axis. From a construction standpoint, the project posed challenges, as the site lies directly behind a dike and is affected by temporary groundwater reaching up to the lawn level. An 85-centimeter-thick solid base slab prevents the empty pool from lifting due to buoyancy.

The pool’s design concept is tailored to the slightly trapezoidal shape of the plot. As a central yet visually protected element, it skillfully connects the main house and the north wing into one cohesive ensemble. Rambow Pooldesign also developed a low-energy concept for the installation, integrating energy-efficient components. These include high-quality insulation, a solar-powered slatted cover, and a heat pump with smart photovoltaic integration—turning the pool into an energy storage system.
Year-round operation is effortless and worry-free for the homeowners, thanks to salt electrolysis, intelligent pool control, and remote maintenance. Visually, the pool also impresses with refined technical details, such as the high-level design that creates an elevated water level, as well as a carbon-look waterfall feature.
DESIGN DETAIL
The dark carbon waterfall feature rises in a perfectly shaped arc above the edge of the exposed concrete pool, soothing tired neck muscles after swimming with powerful water massages.
