A Family Pool Landscape on the Hillside

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
On a spacious hillside property in the Bavarian town of Tauberbischofsheim, Höhlein Schwimmbad & Wellness created this extraordinary pool landscape. It was designed not only for the homeowners but also for the family dog, which has its own area. The four-legged family member can exercise in a foil-lined water channel measuring two meters wide and almost 30 meters long that runs through the garden.

At the same time, this water feature is an impressive design highlight, as the wooden deck with the water channel on the side turns the water experience into a striking visual element.

The homeowners’ pool is positioned slightly higher. From the house entrance, Corten steel raised beds lead via a staircase down to the pool terrace, which is paved with bright, rustic natural stone. At the center lies a 12.1 × 4.7 meter entry-level pool from RivieraPool.

The pool is framed by dark natural stone, which also covers the overflow channel surrounding the pool. This creates a striking contrast and an intense, deep blue water appearance. A staircase running across the entire width of the pool leads into the water.

In the upper step, a powerful counter-current system with three jets from Ospa is integrated, allowing for athletic swimming. On the opposite side of the staircase, an automatic roller cover disappears into an invisible shaft when the pool is not in use.

For year-round use, the pool water is heated by an HKR heat pump, maintaining a comfortable temperature of around 28°C.

DESIGN DETAIL

The wide staircase of the entry-level pool not only ensures comfortable access but also allows for extended swimming sessions. Integrated into the top step is a counter-current system from Ospa with three jets.
