A Place to Unwind, Framed by Water

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL

In Essen, an adjacent neighboring plot was transformed into a private wellness oasis after a couple acquired the property. They commissioned the specialist company Sollazzo & Wetzel with the complete redesign of the newly added garden area, creating a stylish retreat centered around an elegant pool.

Due to the natural change in elevation of the site, an infinity pool measuring 8 x 3.6 meters was chosen. On one side, the water appears to merge seamlessly with the horizon, making the pool not only functional but also a striking visual highlight. The integrated waterfall is oriented toward the terrace and the house, making it visible both from the interior and the outdoor dining area—providing a calming design feature with strong atmospheric appeal.

The one-piece pool is equipped with a narrow staircase, an in-floor cover that also functions as a seating bench, and stainless steel fittings recessed into the pool wall. A spacious pool house was built directly next to the pool, serving not only as a place of retreat but also as the technical hub of the installation.

All pool technology was implemented to the latest standards: app control allows convenient management of water treatment, lighting, and the cover. An air-source heat pump ensures comfortably warm water temperatures. The wellness ensemble is further enhanced by a stylish outdoor shower, intensifying the experience of nature under the open sky.

What was once a neighboring plot has thus been transformed into a place of peace and relaxation—a private retreat realized with architectural and technical precision.

DESIGN DETAIL

The single-sided overflow edge of the pool, which creates the popular infinity effect, is finished with large-format, dark brown tiles. The pool water flows over it across the entire width of the basin into the lower-lying overflow channel.
