An Elegant Garden Retreat with Reflective Water Features

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL

In Gladbach, the specialist company Terpelle Garten created a characterful garden landscape with a modern design language and an impressive natural pool as its central feature. The pool wraps elegantly around the residence and was positioned so that it can be seen from most of the living spaces—perfectly reflecting the homeowners’ wish for a visually defining water landscape that remains constantly in view.

Viewed from above, the impressive dimensions of the property and its sophisticated design concept become especially apparent. The centerpiece of the project is the 15 x 4 meter natural pool, harmoniously integrated into the spacious garden architecture. The expansive terrace is paved with square Belgian stone slabs measuring 1 x 1 meter and offers a variety of seating areas for relaxation. A small waterfall at the staircase entrance of the natural pool introduces movement into the otherwise calm water surface.

Mediterranean flair is created by two olive trees placed on a small island within the separate yet visually connected filtration basin. This basin also functions as a water feature in front of the garden lounge, making it an integral visual component of the overall garden experience.

The natural pool is framed by a combination of cherry laurel hedges, hornbeam plantings, and a diverse selection of perennials and ornamental grasses that emphasize the garden’s naturalistic appearance. A thoughtfully designed lighting concept stages the entire area beautifully in the evening hours with carefully placed lighting accents.

DESIGN DETAIL

From a bird’s-eye perspective, the dimensions of both the property and the long pool, including its filtration basin, are clearly visible. The terrace landscape extends further to the sides, offering tranquil retreat areas nestled between flower beds.
