Elevated Elegance with a View Over the Landscape

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL

On an exclusive hillside property in Baden, Schwimmbad-Henne, together with the homeowners and the architectural firm Baumgartner + Witz, realized this impressive stainless-steel pool, which stands out for its elevated position and precisely planned execution.

The 13 x 4 meter pool sits atop a natural stone platform and, despite its size, conveys a remarkable sense of lightness. Toward the house, the pool area is bordered by a red sandstone wall adorned with putti sculptures, creating a striking contrast to the modern, clean lines of the stainless-steel basin.

A narrow staircase provides access to the custom-made pool, which features a recessed overflow channel along the two sides facing the view. This creates a distinctive infinity effect and emphasizes the expansive outlook—swimming here places you at eye level with the treetops of the surrounding landscape.

Six massage jets integrated into the pool wall beneath a partial handrail along one side offer soothing relaxation after swimming. Most of the pool technology is supplied by sopra and is complemented by two heat pumps responsible for maintaining the water temperature.

At the end of the pool, directly in front of the adjacent pool house with its cozy lounge area, a slatted cover by Grando is concealed within an extended section of the basin, protecting the water from falling leaves from the nearby tree canopies.

DESIGN DETAIL

Next to the pool house, there is a sheltered spiral shower that is protected from view. It was built using the same red sandstone that also adorns the dividing wall between the building and the pool. For a cohesive appearance, it has been set a few steps down into the ground.
