From Reflecting Pool to Living Biopool

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
There had already been a water feature in this private garden in the Hellweg region – but it was not suitable for swimming. It was a shallow concrete reflecting basin used purely for decorative purposes. The homeowners therefore decided to replace it with a biopool using the Living Pool system from Biotop.

However, the garden had also grown beautifully over the years and was lovingly maintained by the homeowners, who were by no means passionate gardeners. Klute Gärtner von Eden therefore recommended a prefabricated pool with an integrated roller cover measuring 9 × 3 meters.

This solution offered the advantage that the pool could be installed with minimal intervention, leaving the garden largely untouched. Even guests of the homeowners hardly noticed the transformation at first glance.

Thanks to the conversion, the biopool now provides refreshing cooling, bathing enjoyment, and an overall higher quality of stay – particularly on the adjacent terrace.

The water treatment works entirely through biological filtration, meaning no chemicals are introduced into the garden environment. At the same time, the maintenance effort for the pool has remained comparable to that of the former reflecting pool.

DESIGN DETAIL

The filtration technology of the biopool is located beneath the wooden deck at the front end of the pool. The deck also serves as a pleasant sunbathing platform. If access to the technical system is required, the deck can simply be moved aside.
