Modern Pool Design in a Lush Garden Retreat

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
In Neuenburg am Rhein, the homeowners wanted a complete redesign of their small garden – including an integrated pool and the use of materials that feel as natural and local as possible. The project was carried out by Hügel mehr Garten.

For the ground surfaces, a specialist selected Jura limestone, which was used for the garden paths, terraces, and the tall retaining wall behind the pool. The pool itself – a Compass Pools model Aqua Nova 53 – measures 5.3 × 3.2 meters.

Because of the compact garden size, this smaller pool format was deliberately chosen to maintain balanced proportions. The pool technology is housed in a weatherproof technical cabinet from Garten-Q, which is fitted with a protective canopy.

Automatic water treatment is managed by the Poolmanager Pro from Bayrol, which also controls the pool lighting and the three water features integrated into the natural stone wall.

Next to the pool, a curved seating area was created as a sheltered retreat, allowing the homeowners to enjoy the surrounding plants at eye level. The garden planting consists mainly of flowering perennials and bee-friendly species.

A striking design element is a three-meter-high hornbeam hedge, which acts as an eye-catching focal point in the garden. The garden area is further extended by an adjoining conservatory, creating a seamless transition to the living space.

Even on cooler summer evenings, the terrace can be enjoyed comfortably, as the lighting of the conservatory and the pool are coordinated in a warm tone, creating a cozy and wind-protected atmosphere.

DESIGN DETAIL

One entire long side of the pool features a decorative privacy wall made of Jura limestone, which borders the pool directly. Three water spouts emerge from this wall and flow into the pool, controlled by the technical system housed in the cabinet behind it.
