Historic Charm Meets Modern Water Design

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
There is something fascinating about living in a castle like this one in the Eifel region, especially when it has been meticulously restored down to the smallest detail. At the same time, such historic buildings must comply with numerous architectural regulations.

One of these stipulated that a swimming pool could not be built in this parade garden located directly in front of the house. However, together with Biesemann Pool-Landschaften, a solution was found that still allowed a garden pool to be realized.

According to the monument preservation authorities, the construction of a reflecting fountain basin was permitted at this location – and so the idea of a “swimming fountain” was born.

Another challenge was that beneath the pool area lies an underground garage of almost 1,000 square meters, making a ground-level installation impossible. As a result, a flush-mounted basin from the RivieraPool Individual program was chosen, which rises about 20 centimeters above the ground surface.

This situation also proved practical, as the height difference between the basin and the garage allowed for the installation of a very large technical chamber. Inside it are the water treatment system and powerful pumps from Espa, which supply both the counter-current system and the fountain feature.

The pool is also equipped with a polycarbonate roller shutter cover with solar lamellae. When activated, the water flows automatically into the fountain basin, where a spectacular fountain rises several meters high in front of the impressive castle backdrop.

DESIGN DETAIL
In the center of the castle pool, a permanently installed water feature is integrated and supplied by a powerful Espa pump. In the evening, the magnificent fountain is staged by an LED spotlight illuminating it from below.
