From January 1, 2027, AstralPool UK and Certikin will join forces in a single organisation, bringing together two of the most established names in the UK pool sector. B2B customers will get one account, one invoice and one delivery, without losing the brands and expertise of either company.
AstralPool UK and Certikin will form Fluidra UK on January 1, 2027. The merger unites two of the most respected businesses in the British pool market. Its aim is to give industry professionals a single point of contact.
Less Complexity for Customers
The new structure is designed to simplify trading. Customers will have one account, one invoice and one statement. Ordering will also be unified: the AstralPool and Certikin catalogues will be available through a single process, whether online, by email or by phone. All goods will arrive in one coordinated delivery.
The Brands Stay Distinct
Fluidra UK will not erase the identity of either brand. Customers will still receive separate AstralPool and Certikin price lists. They can also rely on the existing technical support teams, which cover products from both portfolios.
The Next Step in an Ongoing Integration
The announcement follows a period of integration in which key functions, including Operations, Distribution and Logistics, have already been combined. The launch of Fluidra UK is the next phase. It is intended to deliver greater efficiency, responsiveness and value across the industry.
Managing Director Neil Stephenson said the creation of Fluidra UK marks an important milestone for both businesses. According to Stephenson, the merger will create a simpler and more efficient experience for customers. It will also preserve the expertise, service and trusted brands that built the reputation of both companies.
Two Histories Spanning Decades
Certikin was founded in 1963 by Bob Kent. It has grown into one of the UK’s leading suppliers of swimming pool and wet leisure equipment, expanding through partnerships, acquisitions and innovation. Its areas of development include heating, filtration, covers and water treatment. Certikin International was created in 1992, following the acquisition of Ellis & Everard Pools by Hawtin PLC. Fluidra then acquired Certikin in 2003, which supported its international expansion. Today the company operates from Witney and Leeds. It supplies more than 8,000 products to domestic and commercial customers in the UK and in over 50 countries.
AstralPool has its roots in Astral Construcciones Metálicas, founded in Barcelona in 1969 by four Catalan families. The company began by manufacturing pool components such as ladders, skimmers, drains and stainless-steel filters. It later expanded into broader manufacturing and distribution. Astral UK was established in Britain in 1984 under Alan White, followed by his daughter Helen, who played an influential role in the development of the entire UK water leisure sector.
