Hotel Casale, which will host the event

Convegno d’Autunno’s Programme Is Now Online

Two days focused on regulations, innovation and new opportunities for pool professionals. Here are the details.

On Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 December, three rooms (Sala Azzurra, Sala Verde and Sala Workshop) of the renowned Hotel Casale in Colli del Tronto will feature talks, round tables and technical deep dives designed for professionals who work with pools and clients every day.

It is a major opportunity for training and discussion, with 52 exhibitors in the Expo area. The first day is dedicated to pool managers, with a programme built around the most relevant topics.

Here are the subjects Convegno d’Autunno will cover.

Regulations and Safety

Safety is the common thread of the conference. The programme starts with lifeguard training in light of the new regulations (FISA). It also includes a workshop on safety and hygiene, focused on preventing risks and disinfecting correctly.

Speakers will then address cameras and privacy, including the limits that must be respected. They will also cover the National Observatory for Drowning Prevention.

The programme also includes proper waste disposal and the design of pool systems under the new technical and regulatory criteria.

Costs, Management and New Business Models

Two round tables will open the institutional debate. The first looks at how to cut water and energy costs, with a focus on the IMU property tax on public swimming facilities. The second examines the sport reform as a tool for Public-Private Partnerships.

Business opportunities include pools without reception staff, dog-friendly pools, spray parks and cold-water swimming, which extends the use of outdoor pools into winter.

Commercial and Management Skills

On Thursday 3 December, Sala Verde will focus on the human side of the profession. Marco Massari will discuss the management skills needed to handle crises. Giorgio Gavina will explain how to respond to clients who only look at price, when price is often not the real problem.

Water, Treatment and Systems

The technical core of the programme covers water balance, chemistry that supports maintenance technicians, ultraviolet systems, filter media, pool suction systems and air treatment in indoor facilities.

Walter Borello will present laboratory analysis data on non-conformities. The programme also gives broad coverage to chlorination and electrolysis, from salt chlorinators with monopolar cells to low-salinity systems using free chlorine.

Technology and Automation

The programme also looks at the connected, increasingly autonomous pool. Topics include smartphone control apps, automatic dosing and smart management, advanced robotics, automated safety systems and an automatic version of the Self-Monitoring Manual (Manuale di AutoControllo).

Materials, Lighting and Design

Company workshops will cover fibreglass pools, reinforced membranes (with certified training courses), pool covers, transparent acrylic walls and outdoor decking.

Lighting will also feature, from underwater light to lighting design for wellness areas.

Networking and Hospitality

Convegno d’Autunno is also a chance to meet colleagues and partners. Besides lunches, coffee breaks and an aperitif in the Expo Hall, a dinner for conference attendees is planned for 2 December, with a dinner show at 8:30 pm.

Registration is open on the Professione Acqua website.
