WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
In the midst of the idyllic Ortenau region, Schwimmbad-Henne equipped the leisure area of a spacious garden with a generously sized swimming pool. The homeowners were not new to pools—they already had an indoor pool, but wanted an outdoor oasis for the beautiful summer days.
Their ideas were therefore very specific: a pool with an overflow channel and a wide staircase spanning the entire width. A standard-size pool was out of the question, and both the design and desired features required a customized solution. The pool specialists therefore recommended a Polystone pool, which allows for tailor-made configurations and a high degree of individualization—yet is delivered as a prefabricated unit and installed directly into the garden.
The pool measures an impressive 10 x 3.9 meters and features an extended section that discreetly conceals the solar-powered in-floor slatted cover by Grando during use, without compromising the swimming area. A counter-current system is also integrated into the entry steps, enabling continuous swimming for exercise.
All water treatment components are supplied by sopra, ensuring optimal coordination, and even an existing whirlpool was successfully integrated into the system. The pool is set within a surround of anthracite-colored stone slabs, which are also used to create elegant covers for the perimeter overflow channel.
Adjacent to the pool, a spacious pergola with an outdoor kitchen and seating area provides a shaded retreat thanks to its louvered roof—making the pool area the central hub of family leisure life during the summer months.
DESIGN DETAIL
The Polystone pool could be precisely tailored to individual requirements. This made it possible to integrate the counter-current system into the wide staircase, whose top step is designed as a shallow-water zone. The material allows for sharp, clean edges, creating a modern look.
