A Statement Pool at the Heart of the Garden

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL

At the center of a spacious garden surrounding a home in the Bavarian Forest,
Pool & Wellness Ettl created a dreamlike garden pool featuring a striking overflow edge.

Calm and harmonious, the pool blends seamlessly into the garden landscape while still offering a wide range of design possibilities thanks to its concrete construction. This allows for a high degree of flexibility in shaping the pool.

One example is the narrow side entry staircase, which features an unusually long first step—ideal for use as a sun shelf for relaxing in the water.

The pool’s interior finish uses a custom-fitted liner system (Alkorplan 2000 by Renolit), precisely adapted to all edges and ensuring watertight construction.

A key aesthetic feature is the surrounding overflow channel, which not only creates a perfectly level water surface but also forms a subtle frame with its dark natural stone finish. This frame is gently washed over by the water, enhancing the elegant visual effect.

Fully automated water treatment is handled by Sopra, while an underwater roller cover by Grando protects the pool from debris such as leaves.

For those who enjoy endurance swimming, a powerful counter-current system by Binder has been integrated.

The entire pool area is sheltered by an L-shaped architectural layout. The pool terrace with a cozy lounge area is covered, while a fitness area is positioned behind glass on the long side—ensuring that the pool remains in view at all times, even during workouts.

DESIGN DETAIL

Thanks to its execution as a concrete pool with a custom liner finish,
the design offers maximum flexibility.
Additional highlights include the stepped entry with a shallow water zone,
integrated spotlight, and inlet nozzles.
