New Leadership at Acquanet, Italy’s Swimming Pool Constructors Association

Following the elections held last February, the new Board of Directors has defined the leadership roles for Acquanet through 2031.

Last month, the Acquanet Board of Directors proceeded with the internal appointments as stipulated by the association’s bylaws. Maria Pia Cafagna, a businesswoman from Puglia and head of Poolsystem by Brugiò srl in Andria, was appointed President, having secured the highest number of votes from the assembly.

Alongside her, Rossana Prola of Professione Acqua srl in Solferino took on the role of Vice President. As a historical figure and one of the association’s founders, her continued presence in the governing body ensures an essential element of stability.

The position of Secretary has been entrusted to Francesco Saverio D’Apuzzo of D’Apuzzo Piscine in Lettere. The Board is completed by Gianluca Cordioli of Amadori Piscine in Padenghe sul Garda and Pierre Spinelli of Ideal Control srl in Concorezzo, both appointed during the February 11th assembly.

Continuity and renewal

The new leadership team faithfully reflects the productive essence of Acquanet, whose membership base is comprised of over 75% of professionals specializing in the construction and maintenance of swimming facilities.

This transition marks the culmination of a journey begun four years ago, without losing the heritage of values accumulated over time. Cafagna, a member of Acquanet since its inception with three decades of entrepreneurial experience, embodies the balance between institutional memory and an innovative drive.

Operational Agenda: Technical committees and increased grassroots engagement

From their very first meeting, the Board outlined the coordinates for future work, which, compared to the recent past, sees an encouraging trend in membership growth.

Regarding planned activities, the commitment to seamlessly continue the work initiated by the previous governance has been confirmed. Working groups dedicated to Guidelines, MPB, CEN Standards, and UNI Standards will launch shortly, for which numerous members have already volunteered. The objective is to broaden the group of those actively contributing to the association’s life.

In her inaugural message, President Cafagna finally outlined the priorities for her mandate: to strengthen the sense of community among member companies, increase the visibility of the sector, and establish Acquanet as a recognized point of reference within the institutional and regulatory groups of the Italian swimming pool industry.
