WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
In the exclusive residential area of Son Vida in Mallorca, Cubycla transformed an existing skimmer pool into a modern overflow pool, stylistically adapted to the elegant hillside villa. Planning and execution were personally overseen by managing director Frank Grigull, with a clear focus on aesthetics and functionality.
The new concrete pool impresses with its clean, linear design and a seamless transition into the surrounding landscape, appearing almost like part of the natural panorama – with views of the hills and the distant Mediterranean Sea.
The color scheme of white and turquoise tones gives the concrete pool a sense of lightness and depth, while the large-format, light-colored tiles of the surrounding terrace create ample space for relaxed sunbathing and social gatherings.
The counter-current system by Hugo Lahme is elegantly integrated into the wide shallow-water zone on the front side – next to the entry steps – and enables intensive swim training. The features are complemented by a stainless steel waterfall on the long side, specifically designed to provide targeted relaxation.
A fully automatic water treatment system ensures crystal-clear water at all times, while a heat pump provides pleasant water temperatures. When not in use, a roller shutter cover protects the pool.
The surrounding overflow channel ensures a constant water level and a calm, refined appearance – embedded in a Mediterranean setting with palm trees and light natural stone.
DESIGN DETAIL
Positioned exactly in the center of the pool, a mosaic-covered block rises within the spacious shallow-water zone on the front side. It can be used as a comfortable armrest, while primarily housing the counter-current system.
