Italian Rossana Prola is the new coordinator of European standardisation activities for private swimming pools.
Italy is back at the helm of European technical standard drafting and revision for swimming pools. This month, Rossana Prola has taken on the role of Convenor of TC402/WG2, the UNI working group dedicated to pool water circulation, filtration and treatment — more than 20 years after the appointment of Lionello Ambrosi.
Head of Professione Acqua and Vice President of Acquanet, the association of swimming pool manufacturers, Prola also currently serves as President of CT020 on sports equipment and facilities.
The secretariat function of the same WG2 has also passed to Italy, a position that will be held directly by UNI and whose costs will be shared equally between the country’s two main industry associations, Acquanet and Assopiscine.
With these appointments, Italy replaces Germany in the coordination and secretariat duties of one of the four European standardisation committees responsible for drafting and revising technical standards for private swimming pools.
Both appointments carry a three-year term, potentially renewable once.
