WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
This stylish pool landscape, defined by a sense of calm and tranquility, was created in a garden in Cologne. Planning, design, and construction of both the pool and the entire garden were carried out by Schenker Garten und Landschaftsbau.
For the swimming pool, one half of the garden was raised by two steps, creating interesting opportunities for planting along the sides—so that the soil itself is not visible from above. The pool platform extends as a wide band of dark grey stone slabs all the way to the back of the garden, where a decorative wall in a slate look with an integrated glass panel provides wind protection. Only in the area of the cushioned lounge and along one side with sun loungers are the stone surfaces softened by warm wooden deck elements.
The generously sized pool, measuring 11 x 4 meters, appears to seamlessly continue the stone surface, although it is actually lined with a pool membrane. This effect is achieved by the 3D liner Alkorplan Touch by Renolit, which imitates natural slate and creates refined, three-dimensional water effects with an authentic look.
The pool technology, supplied by Belka Pools, includes an in-floor slatted cover, a heat pump, and colored underwater lighting. These components, along with the water treatment system, are all controlled via a central pool management system.
DESIGN DETAIL
Light wooden surfaces intentionally break up the stone aesthetic—whether as flooring for the outdoor lounge or as a cover for the extended slatted cover housing of the pool. The grasses in the pots mirror those in the planting beds, creating a harmonious overall look.
