Swimming in Harmony with Nature

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
The aim was to design the approximately 450-square-meter garden of this bungalow in Upper Bavaria to be as green, modern, and natural as possible – including the pool. Die Königsgütler successfully realized this concept by creating a cozy relaxation area that is framed by two sides of the building.

Access to the garden is provided by a charming wooden deck made of untreated larch. With its gently curved boards, it forms an inviting entrance. Directly in front of it, along the long side of the building, lies a ten-meter-long natural pool with aquatic plants, operated with a natural pool filtration system by Pool4Nature.

The connection between the wooden deck and the natural pool is formed by a small bridge, which also serves as the access ladder and is made of larch wood. At the end of the pool there is a separate decorative water-plant area, which has been planted with various species adapted to the seasons.

These plants also appear in the ornamental pond next to the pool, with rolling transitions between the planted areas and the garden pool. This effect is created by a narrow wooden walkway that leads from the terrace between the pool and the pond into the rear part of the garden.

The remaining garden area was largely designed with rolled turf to create a uniform appearance. In some places it is enclosed by a beech hedge that provides privacy. Carefully placed ornamental grasses emphasize the harmonious connection between the living area, the natural pool, and the garden landscape.

DESIGN DETAIL
A narrow wooden walkway leads from the terrace into the rear garden area and is surrounded by aquatic plants. It marks the transition between the natural pool, the planted water zone, and the adjacent ornamental pond.
