Where Architecture and Water Become One

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL

In the garden of a residence near Frankfurt am Main, the company Pool-Konzept created a 11 × 3 meter pool that perfectly complements the modern architectural concept.

Through close collaboration with a regional architect, the concrete pool—finished with a liner—was precisely integrated into the overall design. The homeowners’ vision was realized by designing the pool as a central design element with an overflow edge. This creates the impression that the water begins directly at the bedroom and extends deep into the garden.

The overflow system itself is almost invisible, as it is concealed beneath individual slab elements. These are made from the same material as the pool surroundings and continue seamlessly to the water’s edge.

Narrow side slots guide the water into the overflow channel and then into the filtration system, which is fully automated using technology from BWT and Bayrol.

Inside the pool, a dark, structured liner (Alkorplan Touch 3D Elegance by Renolit) was selected. This material continues the visual language of the interior design into the outdoor space and creates an intense, deep water color.

Additional dark design elements—such as slate features on the garden shower, fencing, and the technical housing—complete the cohesive color concept.

DESIGN DETAIL

The submerged roller cover from Rollo Solar is made of polycarbonate slats in a carbon metallic finish.
It also forms the first step of the side entry staircase and functions as a shallow water zone at the front of the pool.
