Where Water Meets the Horizon

WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
The garden of this home in Upper Bavaria spans three levels and was completely redesigned by Die Königsgütler. The different height levels resulted from the steep slope of the property. Although they divide the garden into separate areas connected by staircases, they also made it possible to create a breathtaking infinity pool.

The pool is located at the outer edge of a terrace built with limestone slabs from Dietfurt. The water surface, equipped with a natural pool filtration system, lies just below the terrace paving, while at both corner edges the water appears to flow freely into the air.

This visual effect is created by a recessed overflow channel that runs along the edge of the pool and gently collects the water flowing over the lip. At the lower end of the pool terrace, a decorative stone bed forms a transition to the Mediterranean-inspired garden concept, featuring plants such as wild thyme, thistle-like perennials, and grasses.

The large middle terrace level is also designed with rectangular lawn areas, a circular terrace with a lounge group, and surrounding hedges. Corten steel elements such as a Luminia outdoor light, AquaLine fountain systems, and the Zaunsystem Miami are distributed throughout the garden and provide stylish accents within the modern, reduced design.

DESIGN DETAIL
The infinity overflow is located at the outer corner of the pool and, thanks to its elevated position, offers a breathtaking view. The overflow channel is clad with custom-cut natural stone slabs that were pre-bonded at an angle in the factory.
