WHAT MAKES THIS POOL SPECIAL
In the garden of a private residence in Morbach, Baltes Swim, Spa & Home created a spacious spa landscape. Embedded within the clearly structured garden architecture, the concept intentionally combines relaxation, wellness, and everyday living – with short walking distances, well-designed technology, and unobstructed views of all areas.
The central element is a fully automated Compass Carbon Ceramic pool, whose equipment enables energy-efficient operation throughout the year. A fully retractable polycarbonate solar roller cover is positioned beneath the walkable shallow-water zone and ensures pleasantly warm water temperatures on more than 200 days per year. At the same time, it protects the pool from debris and significantly reduces the use of water treatment chemicals.
During the cooler months, a four-season heat pump provides precise temperature control – powered by electricity from the home’s own photovoltaic system, often at virtually no cost. An energy-efficient turbine counter-current system allows for athletic swimming, and its operation is frequently covered by just a small solar surplus from the PV system.
The home office, located in the upper garden area, offers a wide view over the pool and garden and lies in close proximity to the whirlpool – a perfect place to loosen tense muscles after long workdays. The spa ensemble is complemented by a small extension featuring a spacious shower bathroom, a Viliv sauna, and an adjoining relaxation area with a comfortable lounge chair.
In the rear section of the extension, the fully automated pool technology is installed. It can be controlled via mobile devices, enables remote monitoring, and includes high-quality filtration media with automatic backwashing as well as free chlorine measurement.
The energy-efficient pool can be used during the winter months either as a pleasantly heated swimming pool or as a refreshing plunge pool – depending on personal preference.
DESIGN DETAIL
Located slightly apart in the elevated part of the garden, the newly built home office offers an excellent overview of the wellness garden and short paths to relaxation after work. A portable spa is also available on its veranda.
